This is in my brain......
Skin Crawling Comics, a portfolio builder.

Last night I briefly mentioned that I was putting together a horror anthology. The response from many of you was surprising and exciting. This was originally a closed project but due to the amount of talented people that expressed interest I am opening it up.

First off, I want to make this very VERY clear, this is a portfolio building project. In the comics (and publishing as a whole) in order to get jobs you have to show previous work. Skin Crawling Comics is a project to build your comics resume. This means that you will not be paid. Let me repeat, you will not be paid. Once some finished art comes in, a pitch proposal will be put together to send to publishers (or worse case scenario, we will Kickstarter it), and IF any money is made beyond publishing costs then it will be split. Seeing as right now we have 20 people signed on and it is growing, don’t expect much. Skin Crawling is not being put out there in hopes that someone of Fiona Staples level in the industry will jump on (though we will willing grab her or anyone else up if you really want on). Everyone who has jumped on has been published once or twice in the indie scene, gone the self publishing route, or has a webcomic. If this sounds like you this might be your bag.

Still with me? Yes? Good. If you are a writer and want on to Skin Crawling you must email me your pitch idea by Friday, October 26th. Stories can NOT be longer than 10 pages. We are aiming for the 16+ crowd. “Splatter porn” will not be accepted. A story that uses rape as plot fodder, a horror trope that is overused, will not be accepted. We are looking for variety. Slasher, monster, ghost, silly or serious, if it fits into any of the sub-genres of horror we will take a look at it.

If you are an artist that wants on, great! We have plenty of writers that will be need to be paired off. If you have done only pinups this is a great opportunity to work on sequential. Or if you just want the practice between projects this might be the anthology for you. We are also looking for colorists and inkers.

If this interests you please email me at RachelPandich@gmail.com with what you would like to do on the anthology no later by October 26th.
