We let Willow cut her hair. When you have a little girl, it’s like how can you teach her that you’re in control of her body? If I teach her that I’m in charge of whether or not she can touch her hair, she’s going to replace me with some other man when she goes out in the world. She can’t cut my hair but that’s her hair. She has got to have command of her body. So when she goes out into the world, she’s going out with a command that it is hers. She is used to making those decisions herself. We try to keep giving them those decisions until they can hold the full weight of their lives.

As egos collide, Black Widow—street name, Natasha Romanova—is the only character who does not throw a monstrous hissyfit. The only character to gather actionable intelligence against Loki from Loki. The character who not only literally kicks sense back into the brainwashed Hawkeye, but then absolves him of any sins performed while under the loony god’s spell.
You want fearless? When midtown Manhattan is swarming with thousands of robo-aliens, the dreaded Chitauri, Black Widow commandeers one of their slippery aero-sleds and flies it to steal Loki’s glowing phallic scimitar so as to save the world so Iron Man can blow up the aliens.

Yes, this, this, this, and this some more. I haven’t read a lot of movie reviews about the Avengers but according to some of the podcasts I listen to, some reviewers have been coming down hard on Black Widow, trying to diminish her role in the movie.
With a cast that big and full of stars, Scarlet Johansson was great as the Black Widow and the scene with Loki was a quiet, strong moment in the film for her when she gets info out of him, manipulating him as easily as he had manipulated others, and the audience as well.
Lets not forget the role she played in Iron Man 2, when she fought off a whole group of thugs by herself and released War Machine from the control of the main baddie.
I could easily go for a movie with her and Hawkeye in it.

Better plan: invest in birth control and adopt one of the multitudes already existing. I know, I know, people want to reproduce their eyes and their ears to satisfy vanity, but be honest: are your genes really THAT great? Is there something in us so great that it demands to be passed on? Few can say so. Too many view children as proxies and avatars. Parents who can get over themselves are better caretakers, I have to think.
